"GeoWrite/NewWrite"

(Since it's used to write helpfiles, this "bug" is mentioned here, too.)

Geo/NewWrite (at least the versions up to the NDO 3.0 beta 1) doesn't care about the quotes-settings in preferences->international. You'll always get American quotation-marks when the "smart quotes"-option is turned on.

Fixes:

There's a dos-program called "GeoQuote" to set German, French, ... quotation marks in the GeoWrite/NewWrite-versions in Geoworks Ensemble 2.x and NDO 2.5/97. ("GeoQuote" is a FreeWare program by Burkhard Oerttel.)
Steve Main says that the final version of NewWrite in NDO3.0 will care about the preferences-settings.
