We had many special moments in our VA, most of them was really good and of course, like in reallife, some of them not.
delphi340 founded, at 25. January 2012, the Virtual Airline TUIfly on HippyHappy Germany. Maybe you don't know HippyHappy, this was the former place for our virtual life.
Do you know one of the best Airports of Sunrise.Fly on HHG, Ashburton NZAS? No? The Story about this Airport will find also a place here, but later.
delphi340 managed TUIfly on a stable and good way and so expanded this Airline to 2 Pilots and 43 Destinations.
Jack101971 find his way to HippyHappy, at 22. May 2012. The welcome and help on HippyHappy impressed him. And so, he done a few flights, collected enough points to join a Virtual Airline and started with a look on the Virtual Airline Market. O.K., it was an expensive look for him, because he done a small mistake and this cost 2.000 points. A wrong button and he founded an own Virtual Airline. That wasn't the plan and so he had more than 1.000 points on the negative side. Learning by doing, some times with a mistake.
Some more flights as was planned and he can join delphis TUIfly.
After a few weeks, delphi offered Jack a place as Co-Owner. They invest in new Destinations, get a TS Channel for TUIfly and in an own Forumstopic are all news about the Airline.
To expand this small Airline, was it time to look around for new Pilots. Active following the MP-Chat and so on was a good base for this.
Patytech got some, maybe some more PM's, from Jack to come to TUIfly. The base of this contacts was the Shipsim-Extreme. Was it easy to catch him? Hm, he need his time. Had he a chance to say "No"? Not really.
The great activity and loyalty of the Pilots, the invest of the earned points, by the Owners, in new Destination and weekly techfee was the base, that TUIfly expanded fast and stable to a really good Airline.
Some running gags, like Vodka or our Penthouse at LOWI and many more show others, that our reason, to be in a VA, aren't only flying for points and intimes, our motto was and is "Have FUN".
On this way show we an amazing activity and we got often new Pilots. So, it was time, to get with Patytech a third Owner. With 3 Owners was it better, to get enough points, for new Destinations and the weekly techfee. Another reason was, to manage a medium Airline, that is easier with 3 People. You can ask now, why not many more Owners? Hm, other Airlines have done this and they was, on this way, rich on Points and Destination but, like in real, we want a good structure also, delphi340 - Owner -, Jack101971 - Co-Owner and Crew-Chief -, Patytech - Co-Owner and Technical-Chief -.
TUIfly expand worldwide with new Destinations and so was it time, to invest in New Zealand. But there wasn't it easy to find good Airports. Most have an atractivity of 0% (an old HHG Bug). One day, Jack101971 thought, there is a really good Airport, on the South Island of this Country, but he was low on points and Patytech was with him in Teamspeak and the fate took its course. :) Patytech buy this Airport and after he have done this, he look what he buy for many points. His comment was an: "Hmmmm" :D
What Airport was it? It was Ashburton, NZAS. A very small Airport, really small but cute, the longest RWY is 4.554 feet and all are Grass Runways. Oh yes, Patytech invest his points in one of the best Airports of our History. And he was so happy about this invest .... ;)
